The Negative Impact of Peer Violence and Bullying on Safe Learning Environments

Day(s): 31

Please join ECCN, USAID, DAI, and Texas A&M University for a webcast on July 31, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (EDT), to discuss the negative impact youth violence and bullying have on safer learning environments (SLE).

Children and youth in crisis and conflict environments face complex challenges related to schooling and their ability to access a safe learning environment (SLE). This webcast, hosted by ECCN along with USAID, Texas A&M, and DAI Honduras, will focus on just one aspect of the many issues they face: peer violence and bullying. Participants will discuss the different forms of peer-to-peer violence and bullying and how crisis and conflict environments may increase the threat and impact of this violence. They will also present findings showing the negative impact of violence and bullying on education outcomes, and share promising interventions and approaches to addressing these issues within the learning environment.
