Registration for CSW 61 (before 27 January 2017)

Jour(s): de 19/janv. vers 27/janv.

NGOs that are accredited to and in good standing with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) may designate representatives to attend the annual sessions of the CSW. Because of increasing demands on limited space, the numbers of attendees to CSW sessions should be kept to a minimum and should not exceed 20 representatives per organization. Organizations should be aware that, in this context, entry into official meetings can still not be guaranteed to all who wish to attend.

Invitation
Invitation letters are sent, usually in November, to the e-mail addresses registered in the integrated Civil Society Organizations (iCSO) System of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) by NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council. NGOs are encouraged to make sure that their profile and contact information on the iCSO system includes the latest correct information about their organizations.

Registration
CSW61 registration for NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is open from 11 November 2016 to 27 January 2017 online via United Nations CSO-net.

Click here to register for CSW61. Online registration is mandatory for all participants. We are not able to accept registrations by e-mail.

Confirmation Letter and UN Grounds Pass Form
Once an NGO representative has been registered online, a confirmation letter can be viewed and printed for her/him in the organization’s account on CSO-net. A UN grounds pass form for each registered representative will be available in the organization’s account on CSO-net. Organizations are expected to print/send the grounds pass form to their representatives prior to the session. NGO representatives will be required to show the grounds pass form at on-site registration in order to obtain a UN grounds pass for CSW.

Travel and Visa Arrangements
The United Nations will not make travel or visa arrangements or pay for any expenses in connection with the participation of NGO representatives in the sessions of CSW. Such arrangements and costs are the exclusive responsibility of participants.

The United Nations does not charge fees for participation in the Commission on the Status of Women sessions.
Participants are encouraged to submit their visa applications well in advance, in accordance with their local United States Consulate requirements, in order to allow sufficient time for processing.
Registration Questions

All registration-related questions should be sent to the official CSW e-mail address: CSW@unwomen.org. The subject line should read “CSW registration.”

Call for Submissions on Protection Orders & Shelters as Two Ways of Prevention & Protection of Violence Against Women

Protection orders and shelters are extremely important for the protection of women, their sense of safety, their ability to overcome the effects of abuse and planning for the future. The Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences seeks to collect information on shelters and protection orders which will feed into the thematic report she will present at the 34th session of the Human Rights Council in June 2017.

In order to inform her work, the Special Rapporteur wishes to secure from different stakeholders, including States, National Human Rights Institutions, Non-governmental organizations, as well as members of academia, information, inputs and views on both forms of protection.

Information on existing mandatory mediation and reconciliation practices which may undermine the protection of gender-based violence victims as well as information on their social reintegration and legal, security and financial assistance measures are also welcomed.

All submissions should be sent by 30 January 2017 to vaw@ohchr.org
